This is insp, a collection of inspiration.
Named after the folder on my desktop, it was built, on tumblr of course, to share the bundles of images polluting my hard drive. I had been mulling over this idea for awhile and cycled through many iterations before deciding upon the current “waterfall” design. It utilizes the best of tumblr to create a nice image browsing experience.
While building the site I came across the need to use a duo of jquery plugins: infinite scroll and masonry. Jquery masonry is a pile of poo when used with tumblr. So I built my own version and thought I might as well do the same with infinite scroll. The result was 80% less in size for the two, yeah that feels good. I ended up making a handful of other plugins that work well with tumblr, so expect some sweet themes soon.
In its first month it has already amassed +1K followers and +30K pageviews, enjoy.
